The owner of Magnolia Ave. restaurant Lili’s Bistro will open a new restaurant in the same area, one block east: Cat City Grill, at 1208 Magnolia Ave., to feature “signature sandwiches, steak and seafood,” according to a statement.

“The south side of Fort Worth continues to increase in population and popularity, so I’m excited to be able to provide new menu items in an expanded additional space right here on Magnolia,” Vance Martin said in the press release.

The 2,500-square-foot restaurant will have room for about 90 people, a full bar, covered patio and private dining area with seating for about 20 people. The restaurant is expected to be open for lunch and dinner.

Cat City GrillÂ’s managing partner will be Martin Thompson, who previously worked at Grace, Del FriscoÂ’s Double Eagles Steakhouse. Tom Felsenthal, former owner of EndicottÂ’s Ore House, is an investing partner. LiliÂ’s BistroÂ’s Heather Hogan will act as a culinary consultant.

“Cat City GrillÂ’s creative sandwich menu will highlight famous sandwiches from favorite American restaurants, such as a cheese steak from Pat or GenoÂ’s in Philadelphia, a muffalata from Central Grocery in New Orleans, and perhaps even a “Trailer Park Monte Cristo” (fried peanut butter and jelly) from Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland,” Martin said. “Our additional offerings of both steak and fresh seafood will provide other great dining alternatives to this growing restaurant row.”
